<p>A sister of a friend didn't have much community service so she made up hours in her application. Is that done a lot? Does the university have a way to find out if the community service were actually done?</p>
<p>Thats actually not a good idea. Universities do check, but rarely, and they can find out, like calling the place you said you volunteered at.</p>
<p>I'm not really sure if she said she volunteered at a place when she didn't, I just think she added hours to the ones she had.</p>
<p>It won't make a difference, unless she originally had 200 and then changed it to say...500.</p>
<p>Yeah, it depends. An example: 23 hours rounds up to 25, not 30.</p>
<p>I had 245 and I just said I had 250. I don't think that is much of a problem.</p>
<p>Now, If I had 245 and said 300, that would probably be a problem.</p>
