Suggest a School

I am really caught up in this college selection process so i would like you guys to suggest schools. Use this criteria when you are recommending schools. label them safeties or reaches or Normal schools.

Class Rank:3/46
Recommendations will be good hopefully

Laurels

Some other honours which I don't have the time to elaborate on

EC
Debate-Intra school champion for 2 years
Maths society
Soccer
Bball

The catch is that I need a lot of aid and therefore need schools that give a lot.

You didn’t specify what you want in a school. That said, for reaches, Rice, Amherst, Pomona, and Stanford are all known for being pretty fair with aid. For matches (what you call “normal” schools), I’ve heard good things about Claremont McKenna and Grinnell. For safeties, Knox, Tulane, Kalamazoo, and Case Western Reserve are supposed to be good.

The trend tends to be that well-endowed LACs tend to be most generous with aid, especially when it comes to internationals. Check wth each individual school though, to find out their specific policies.

Thanks for the advice but i don,t think that any of Tulane, Kalamazoo, and Case Western Reserve gives aid a lot. Anyone gotmore advice.

Thanks for the advice but I don’t think that any of Tulane, Kalamazoo, and Case Western Reserve gives aid. I have also chosen grinell. Anyone got more advice.

Many schools do not give aid to international students. As an international student you are in a whole different category than US applicants. You will need to do some homework. Go to the financial aid forum and search for international students or international applicants.
Go to the school websites and do your own homework.

try denison, earlham and wooster as safeties.

Regarding Denison and financial aid for internationals:

http://www.denison.edu/admissions/international_students.html</a></p>

Great school, give it a look, if you can swing it.

I found that just be googling “denison iniversity financial aid international.” Try that with various schools.

i ve not even heard of denison before

Tulane and Case are both known for given lots of merit scholarships, so even if you can’t get need-based aid as an international, you still have a good shot at getting money from them.

Kalamazoo awards merit scholarships, grants, and need-based aid to international students: http://www.kzoo.edu/admission/international.php?c=_fa</a></p>

anyone got more suggestions.

Stanford does not offer need-based aid to international students.

So I have heard . have any more suggestions.

Are you interested at all in a Christian liberal arts college? I am attending Covenant College, which is a reformed college, on Lookout Mountain in Georgia. The definite plus for you with Covenant would be that it offers good financial aid as far as I know and we have a big group of international students here, in relation to the school size. If you have good grades, I think you have a good chance of getting good financial aid. Here’s a link, if you’re interested:

Hope that helps…

Auzzie 90 pleasr do you know what the ranking of covenant college in US news ranking is. Also do they have at least some international students in Covenant college.

I’ll get back to you on that. I need to ask…
