Hey guys, I'm an international and my system here is such that about half of the top students choose not to take any humnaities at all. So it's been suggested to me that I take a SAT II humans, since i'm applying to HYP...

which is the most crammable subject? I've about a month to do it.

actually, while answering this, can someone tell me if it's impt to have a humanities SAT II for an international like me? I wish colleges would understand my system here, that many people don't take humanities, but I'm not sure if they do.

if it helps, my SAT I and II (Phy Chem Math2) are both 2400.

screwitlah, since you have a 2400, i think you definitely have to do a sample sat ii LIT test and see what you get. if you can get a 750+ on an officially released test, it may be worth taking it. it is harder than the SAT CR, but I guess some of the skills are similar. it is considered one of the more difficult tests, and in my opinion is next to impossible to "study" for (although others may disagree) but if you are able to get a high score on your first practice test, there's the benefit that you have little to cram into your head before the actual exam! just see where you stand.

for the history, i've heard it's pretty hard. if you are the kind of person who is interested in history and memorizing historical facts quickly, then perhaps you will find this test easy to cram for. but if you are not interested in history, it'll probably be tough to force yourself to cram for this subject test, and there is a lot to remember.

hm, i'm sort of leaning towards lit now. world history isn't available for Jan, and US history well... its really much more in-depth and not as straightforward as world history. lit = okay?

amber: I'm getting most of questions correct, and i don't know @$!@! about lit terminology and devices. no score yet. i think one problem is i do take a while to get accustomed to reading and comprehending poems, as well as old english. =/

Lit is like the reading for the SAT I, only the questions are more in depth and the passages are generally tougher; in short, the reading SAT on steroids. I agree with amb3r and kxliu; lit is the way to go.

Only problem is, you can't "cram" for literature. You can practice, either by doing practice questions or by reading old literature, but apart from that I can't think of any real way to study for it. It will be up to you and your skills alone.

Still, for someone with a 2400, I don't think that is too much of a problem. I got a 700 in my reading the first time, and the lit I took immediately afterwards got a 710. You should be able to get an 800, or something close to it. Good luck! ^.^
