Suggest me some 'matches'?

I've got plenty of reach colleges, but I'm finding it a bit difficult to identify some good match schools.

Intended majors are History and Political Science.

I'm counting on you, CC! I can go virtually anywhere that will take me and puts me in good standing when I have to apply to law school.

undergrad schools with graduate law schools maybe of benefit to getting into that schools law school.(not sure, schools never admit it)
vanderbilt as a reach
drake university as a match both have law schools
muhlenberg college (would prepare you nicely for law school) and maybe a match…they are undergrad only no law school
and maybe wake forest it also has a law school

Class rank?

Budget? (Can your family afford the full cost of selective private schools? If not, are you likely to qualify for need-based aid? Can you afford the Expected Family Contribution?)

Personal preferences? (Size? Weather? Location/setting/distance from home? Social/intellectual atmosphere? Greek & sports scene? etc.)

The first place to look for safety and match schools probably is your in-state public universities.

@tk21769:
We don’t rank in our school but I am easily within the top 5% of a class of 650.

I am fairly middle class, and based on my income (I haven’t done a full FAFSA runthrough yet), EFC maxes out at around 25-30k. We can mostly pay for it, but I am actively looking schools that offer substantial merit aid as well.

I’d prefer a medium-sized to a large college, with at least 2k students, but no upper limit. I have no real preference for weather, but would like to try out different climates than my foggy Bay Area. Preferably an intellectually stimulating environment, with a fairly liberal classes. I have quite a few reaches for that reason - I like hanging out with intellectuals. I have no preference for Greek/sports, since I don’t play sports or plan on joining a sorority. I don’t mind if they are on campus, but I would prefer if the school had a moderate party scene at best.

I’m qualified to at least attend a UC through the EAP program, which allows the top 15% of high schoolers in CA to have guaranteed admission to the lowest UC. So I guess that’s my safety. I match for both UCLA and UCB in terms of stats, but I’m checking out other options for matches.

@zobroward: Thanks for the suggestions, I will check out each of those schools!
