Suggest some good universities for me!

My friends are starting to look at colleges,so I guess I will too.
Here is a "list" of what I am looking for.

-Extremely strong programs in Political Science,International Relations,European History,Macroeconomic
Physics,Astophysics,CompSci,Engineering(aerospace especially, maybe EE)...I am undecided at this point so I want to cover all the bases ....Quite a list eh...

-Good Location with a lot to do/places to eat/to shop in case I crave
say.... Chinese or need to buy something.

-Decent Campus(not a killer, if location makes up for it)

-Good Study Abroad program especially in the UK and Western Europe.Or maybe Japan or China.

-Very Strong Research Opportunities on possibly groundbreaking or high tech research.

-Well Known...Me and My Parents will be spending quite a bit of money and lets just say it would be much easier if they heard of the university before I say I am going there.

-As for people, I want to be around a good mix of very intelligent people...I myself am quite nerdy, like the guy that will camp to get something like a video games system or the Iphone....Technology is VERY important to me.

-A really nice massive Library.

-Some involved in progressive politics quite a bit..hosts debates, has a think tank, lobbies Congress, connections to government...etc.

-Someplace I will be happy and sucessful :)

My next post will have stats and I will eventually take the information and make a list for you guys to grade.

Harvard Lol!

GPA- 3.3UW 3.58W(maybe a bit higher or lower)
Classes:All APs when offered.
Rank:No Clue...At least Top 25%
SAT:2160, 760CR,720M,680W
SATII: 780 US Hisotry, 740 Phsyics

LOL,Harvard while ideal, isn't going to happen

U of Washington, U of Maryland, U of Wisconsin, U of Pittsburgh, U of Iowa, Ohio State, U of Minnesota, U of Toronto.

Johns Hopkins, maybe - I'm not sure about their strength in every program you mentioned, but they're great for IR and the sciences.

There seems to be a huge disconnect between your GPA and your test scores--that can hurt you if colleges decide you didn't work to your fullest potential. Did you take AP tests? How did you do on them? Do you go to a particularly difficult high school?

You don't say what state you're from, but I'd look at some of the higher ranked state universities--many are very highly respected, and with a large school, you'll have lots of resources, such as a diverse student body, big library, and a variety of academic choices.

Claremont-Mckenna may be an option.

bump
(10 charecter minimum)

I agree with GA Tech and Pitt and might add Indiana or Tufts.

last bump of the night.

bump for new day

Pitt Honors College ... not expensive, nice college town/city, great research opportunities (UPMC), co-op, nice study abroad programs, good engineering programs. check it out.

only drawback is that your parents might not know of it .. which is probably a dumb reason not to have a school on your list

I have heard of Pitt

It doesn't HAVE to be in a city either...but it is preferred

Bump
