I agree with Wisconsin and Minnesota and would add Michigan. It's a reach but they'll throw out your freshman grades; maybe that will help. Academically and in terms of the town it sounds like a good fit.

i don't understand what is SO bad about a 3.33UW

i don't think anyone here said a 3.3 UW GPA is bad. it's actually pretty good. However, for certain colleges it may be on the low end so it's always best to get as high as a GPA you can attain. A 3.3 GPA might not qualify you for an honors college, scholarships, or some colleges in general etc...

Princeton is a perfect match for your list of potential majors !

Princeton is ideal but unlikely. They do throw Freshman year out. But even with Freshmen Year gone, assuming I land a 4.0 my last 2 years(doubt it) my GPA would still be a 3.78UW.....My shots are slim unless I cure cancer...

I have lower chances at University of Michigan then at Princeton......

^ Why do you say lower chances at Michigan than at Princeton? Your SATs are in the top quartile at Michigan, and if you can get your unweighted GPA over 3.7 (excluding freshman year) you'd be within their middle 50% on that as well. They have a 50% or so admit rate, and 35% of their student body is OOS, so they can;t be that hard on OOS students. Frankly, I think it's a good fit; a reach, maybe, but doable (far more than Princeton) and a god fit for what you're looking for.

I'll keep that in mind..I was actually looking at Rank and GPA status which is nearly identical...I thought OOS would be much harder....And I don't know...But you are right Michigan does have a lower SAT scores.

Keep going...Suggest more matchs.

Still looking for strong matches....

come on guys, just a few more opinions...
Sorry I am demanding.

bump
the thread sunk fast....

oberlin. occidental. UCB. nyu. american. you don't even mention your stats though, so these could be safeties or reaches, who knows?

I did mention my stats....2nd post.
Oberlin and Occidental are nice, but too small.

Berkeley =P

Think Canada...U of Toronto, McGill U., U of British Columbia.

Obviously Berkeley is ideal...Probably #5 on my "dream" list....but let be serious....

I am definitely looking at Canada since they throw you freshmen and sophomore year away and look at SATs more.

bump for a few more people

just a few more posts.

..............

I will also maybe look into LACs if they have a 3-2 engineering program or send loads of science/eigneering PhD.

For example Fordham has a 3-2 with Columbia and Whitman has a 3-2 with Cal-Tech or UW.
