Suggest Some Schools Please! Reaches, Matches and Safeties!

Hey thanks for checking this out,

Schools I'm Interested in SO FAR- NEED SUGGESTIONS

University of Michigan, Ann Arbor- Legacy
Penn State, University Park
Boston University
Northwestern
Northeastern
Boston College
Syracuse University- Legacy
Michigan State University
UPitt

State- Connecticut
Ethnicity- White
Sex- Male

Potential Major- Most likely something to do with English/History- in the writing area.

Wants- I don't really care where it is. Preferred areas are the west coast, east coast and midwest. I also would like the school to have a pretty good social scene with good parties.

-Unweighted GPA (4-point scale)- 3.57 now as a sophomore (was same as a freshman too i think) (feeling pretty stupid with my GPA :/)(It will improve 2nd semester)

-# of AP/IB/honors courses- Took 3 honors freshman year, taking 2 honors now

-class rank/size- N.A. (class size however is 450ish)

Classes:

Freshman-
English Honors- B-/B+
Western Civ. Honors B+/B+
Algebra 2 Honors- B-/B-
Spanish 1A- A/A
Biology A- B+/A-
Chorus- A
P.E.- A

Core classes GPA- 3.4ish,
Reg. GPA- 3.57ish

Sophomore-
English 2 Honors- B+
U.S. History Honors- B-
Pre-calculus- A
Spanish 2A- A+
Chemistry Honors (dropping down 2nd semester)- B-

-SAT/ACT scores -- Taking PSAT in March

-ECs --

Varsity Hockey (2 years so far)
Varsity Lacrosse (2 years so far)
Chorus (2 years so far)
Staff Writer for my School Newspaper (This year, so 1 year basically)
This summer- Going to Mexico to help underprivileged children

-employment -- none yet

So, I need suggestions, so go ahead. Also, how can I improve my grades? (study tricks, habits, ways to motivate)
I'm nervous, but give me honest feedback :/

Why not add U Conn to your list? In-state tuition. Otherwise, your list looks good. You might want to consider a dual major with a more marketable major such as business.

Study tips: After you read each paragraph, close your eyes and tell yourself what you just read in your own words. Study the vocabulary before you read each chapter. Read the chapter summary before you read each chapter. Highlight the important information on 3X5 cards. Try to see the relationships with other things you know or have read. Take good lecture notes. Re-read the book before the exam. Don't cram; space out your studying. Avoid distractions while you are studying; go to a quiet location. Study before you go to bed. Make yourself earn the fun things you enjoy by studying first. Remember: as much fun as partying might be, nothing is more boring than 40 years in a low-paying job that you can't stand.

You're a sophomore right? I would suggest that you don't worry about this too much right now, as your preferences may change. I would recommend, however, that you start studying for the SATS and keep your grades up.

Nobody can tell you anything significant if you're only a sophomore, but if you keep up a 3.5+ and get a good SAT score (let's say 1800+) you would have a good shot at Pitt, MSU, Syracuse and Northeastern

Thanks for the responses guys! Any more suggestions, bump?

bump! need more suggestions!

bump, please!!!
