Suggested FSSP courses

Anyone else joining the program? :)
Majoring Bio Sci

Courses considering:
Chem 1P: Prep Gen Chem
Math 1B: pre-calculus
Philos 7: Existentialism
Sociol 1: Intro Sociology

I’m guessing you dont have very good experience in chem and math (?). Just a heads up–If your doing a prep class to get ready for the intro class, it won’t count for a GE requirement. Unless you really need it I wouldn’t recommend it.

Go with sociology or philosophy, although there may be lots of reading. I would strongly reocmmend getting one of the 2 lower division writing courses out of the way.

Don’t take Chem 1P unless you need it to take Chem 1A, if you can place into Chem 1A it isn’t worth it.
Same thing with Pre-calc
Go for GEs. If your taking Hum Core then it covers the writing, so don’t take the intro writing. It also covers some other GEs too.

[FSSP: School of Biological Sciences](http://www.summer.uci.edu/fssp/courses/bio_sci.asp)

If you’re a bio major, are these the only classes that freshmen are allowed to take? And tatertots, what classes out of these approved courses would you suggest?

I am not sure if those are the only classes you can take but thats what it looks like. Anyways I would take anything that satisfies your GE requirements which can be found in the catalogue online. Personally I enjoyed Anthro 2A
If your going to take Hum Core it covers all your humanities/arts requirements I think(??)
So I think you left with social science and maybe some other random ones
Look at the course descriptions for each either in the catalogue or on the summer website and take w/e you think will be interesting(and satifies the GEs you need)
