Hi, junior now, 2090/31/3.8, 4 years varsity lax n hockey, captain for both next year, not much else, I'm looking at USC, Northwestern, Wake, Wisconsin, Michigan, and George Washington.

-Which of these would you consider best
-Are there any other schools in Northeast/Mid-Atlantic you might suggest?
Thanks

Basically I'm planning on majoring in Finance or Economics, possibly both. Which schools get the most recruitment from businesses? Which schools are known for the best social life and school spirit? Athletically I'll probably play intramurals or clubs, maybe attempt a walk on, but that's a side issue now. Any thoughts will help, thanks

I just want to say that I adored Wake Forest when I toured it. The campus was beautiful, the students were friendly, and the school spirit is wonderful. Haha, they TP their own campus every time they win a game! 3/4 of the student body is in the fan club that goes to all the sporting events, the Screamin' Deacons. I didn't choose to attend Wake, though, because the town was a little lacking, the school was a bit on the small side for me, and I got into a better school I liked just a bit better: UVA. :) By the way, Businessweek just ranked UVA's finance school, the McIntire School of Commerce, second in the nation, just after Wharton... ;)

Hope that helped a bit. I really think it's more important to choose based on lifestyle rather than "reputation" since reputation in any of the top 50 or so universities is really going to be on the same plateau, no matter what CC would have you believe.

thanks for the uva idea; I didn't mention penn state or uconn, which are my two safeties, but seeing as I'm from CT, that would be a good option

Also, perhaps Notre Dame? Mendoza is a great business school, and the school spirit is similar to some of the other schools on your list (USC, Michigan, Wisconsin, Wake).

Villanova for a safety.
UVA as a reach OOS.
Georgetown as a reach.
BC as a match/slight reach
Cornell as a reach.
Stanford as a reach.
Penn State as a safety

PSU, UVA, Gtown, BC, as reaches Duke Stanford Cornell...you'll find almost every top 10 school has significant recruiting from businesses when you major in econ (Ivies Stanford Duke NU Chicago)

i say notre dame or duke.. university of richmond could be a safety also and you could dominate in lacrosse ... and do you really want to leave CT? i love it there!

Thanks alot for the suggestions, I've still got awhile before I have to choose, but I've always wanted to move out of Connecticut, as good as it has been to me.

For that kind of academic/sports interest and also looking for a fun school, you should certainly look at some combo of Dartmouth, Cornell, Brown, Williams, Bowdoin, Colgate, Middlebury, Bucknell, Holy Cross.
