hi, i just got accepted to UCF for summer term. and i decided to live on campus in summer. So do u guys have any suggestion for choosing residental hall in summer? thx!!

I would like to hear suggestions too.
Also, I do not understand why some are offered summer admission. Can any one tell me?
And, what is the difference in the Towers? How do I know which one to request for fall?

For summer, you will probably have the option between Nike/Herc or Apollo. The Nike/Herc apartments are where I stayed and I got my own bedroom and shared a bathroom with one other roommate.

As for Towers, if you sign up for them, you won’t be able to chose which Towers you’ll get, they choose for you. I’m in Towers 1 now. Towers 1 & 2 are where most freshmen go. Towers 4 is where the athletes are and Towers 3 is the Honors dorms so the kids in UCF Honors stay there.

My son lived in Lake Claire last summer. It is centrally located and you get your own room in a 4/2. The rooms are small, but at least it is your own room. Keep in mind that the Marketplace will be closed this summer for renovations, so Knightros by the Towers will be the place to use your meal plan. You can also choose Towers for summer and if you choose to live there in the fall and are able to get the same room, you may not have to move out in between sessions. With all the other dorms, you will have to move out and then move back in again to the new dorm for fall term. Good luck with your decision.

I am starting UCF this summer. Where can I request the Towers for the summer? When I sign in and go to student self service - housing - preference, the drop down menu for summer session does not include the Towers. Do I have to call the school? Thanks

First be sure that you are putting in the right campus location before you go to the drop down menu for housing. If Towers is not an option – call the Housing Office directly and inquire if rooms are available for the summer. The Information Tab under Housing says that you can choose dorm preferences for both Summer 2010 and Fall 2010 – you may want to do both to ensure that you have your room (be sure to pay the deposit). If after speaking with the Housing Dept. and Towers is not an option – then your best bet is Lake Claire. It is easy to move in and move out and you’ll be close to dining at Knightros (the Marketplace will be closed for renovations). Hope this helps.
