<p>One question to help clarify the question is what kind of an academic environment does he want for studying CS? One with a heavy engineering/techie bent or a broader liberal-arts one? </p>

<p>If the former, I’d add Harvey Mudd and Olin College of Engineering to the LAC list.</p>
