Carnegie Mellon, MIT, Stanford and Berkeley should be on your list - they are regularly listed as the top four programs for computer science. They all have fine engineering programs too. Caltech is also worth looking into, but it’s so tiny and quirky a visit is probably in order to see if it’s a good fit. I am assuming you have UC’s for safety schools?</p>
<p>My older son who is now at Google went to Carnegie Mellon. He made great contacts there, loved the techie atmosphere of having a stand alone school of computer science and had great internships every summer.</p>
