suggestion needed

can anyone suggest some good colleges for actuarial science that also provides need based aid for international students??

They are very few colleges that offer a major in Acturial Science at the undergraduate level(but I think UPenn does?)You’ll have to major in Math/Applied Math in undergrad.Have a look at UPenn,Brown,Swarthmore,Carleton,Laffayette,Lehigh,Williams College,Haverford and Colgate.(All have strong math departments+finaid for intl students)

@macmill: yeah UPenn does offer that but its very hard to get there…dont they provide actuarial science as a different subject or what???by the way, thanx for the colleges…really needed that…appreciate that…

The Society of Actuaries maintains a list of colleges with honest-to-goodness undergraduate actuarial science programs. It’s short enough that you could check each of them for financial aid opportunities by hand:

[SOA - Undergraduate – Advanced](http://www.soa.org/education/resources/actuarial-colleges/undergrad-advanced/undergraduate-advanced-details.aspx)

They also like to point out that you don’t actually need to major in the actuarial sciences to become and actuary. Any quantitative major that provides statistical training (e.g. math, statistics, economics, finance) should prepare you well. I have two friends who became actuaries: one was a math major and the other one majored in physics. If you take enough statistics to pass the first two actuarial exams, take econ and finance courses for the VEE requirements, know how to program and do an internship in college, you should be in a superb position to apply for entry-level positions in the field.

first of all, thanks for the reply
I have given A level exams of Maths and Physics, and an AS level exam of General Paper and waiting for the result…so I am not that good in economics and finance…Is that a disadvantage for me or do they teach from scratch??also, should I major in the subjects which I’m good at or should I take eco/finance???
Any reply would be so helpful in making my choice…

By the way, what does VEE means???and are trying to say I should major in eco and finance???
