Suggestion Please .

As, most of the top-league colleges have made their admissions decisions, i think it's time to analyze and find-out why some of us couldn't make it. After all, one who cannot analyze oneself, can't achieve something big in life, so i am listening to Pytor Llyich Tchaikovsky now, and posting my profile here, and i request all to do the same.
Academics : V.Good (GPA 3.9 out of 4 UW).
SAT scores : Low ( 710 M 540 CR 520W).
TOEFL scores : V.Good ( 103).
Essay and writing : V.Good.
Recommendations : Average to Good.
EC : Good.
Hooks : No.
Awards and achievements : Good
Verdict : Accepted in 3 (Ramapo, Randolph and USC, not enough Financial Aid ) , Rejected in 7 ( Harvard,Yale,Princeton,UChicago, Dartmouth, Duke, Pomona) Waitlisted and Rejected in 2 ( Jacobs and MIT ) , Pending Decisions : 2.
Main reasons for getting rejected (Self analyzed) : Low SAT scores, and even more, NO official SAT and TOEFL scores sent, Late Application ( Sent most of the application 2-3 days before the deadline, in some colleges even after deadline ), Applied way-out of my league, Very Average recommendations, and EC.
But i was happy to be accepted at Ramapo "The Rising Star", as my Princeton Interviewer put it, and Randolph ( which has Males to Female ratio of 1:2 ) , but unhappy, to have been unable to enroll there. I have already had a terrible gap year, so please people suggest me what should i do ?

Hi Bineet, (sorry for a late reply, I just started using this forum)

Yes, I think you are right. The low SAT, specially CR section seems to be the key factor. Everything else is quite impressive. Also, Ivy leagues look for formidable leadership/extracurricular which is a bit hard for us Nepalese since our culture is too consumed with academics alone. Anyways, can I ask you which college did you end up going to?

I am going to St. Johns ( Liberal arts college with no religious affiliation) Santa fe, New Mexico.
