Suggestions and chance?

Hi all, I often hear people complain about chance threads, but I would really appreciate one. I will not be applying to college for another two years (I'm a sophomore, so not quite that long), but have definitive goals of achievement. So my question to you, is my projected application reasonable for Yale? Thanks again!

GPA: 3.9

SAT:
CR: 800
W: 780
M: 740

Community Sevice:
-200 hours hospital lab volunteer work
-lots of YVC
-Soup kitchen: 100 hours
-Volunteer in the summer at the library

Course load: most challenging possible

AP's:
Freshman year:
-AP Human Geo- 4 (self-studied, er... well, kind of just took the test without studying :P)

Sophomore year: State AP scholar (Oregon)
All self-studied
-AP Art History: 5
-Macro: 5
-Micro: 5
-Euro: 5
-World History: 5
-English Lit: 5
-Comp. gov and politics: 5

Junior Year:
classes:
-AP US: 5
-AP Bio: 5
-AP chem: 5
-AP Spanish lang: 5

Self studied:
-AP spanish lit: 5
-Italian (if they bring it back): 5

Senior Year:
-AP English
-AP US gov
-AP German
-AP Statistics

EC's:
-Varsity tennis soph, junior, and senior year
-President of debate club (junior and senior year)
-Editor of school newspaper
-Co-founder and co-president of history club (kind of a joke, but whatever)

Mis achievements:
-Fluent in Italian, Russian, French, and Portuguese (all studied independently without classes since only freshman year and have achieved high scores on the corresponding national fluency tests.) Languages are kind of my thing :)
-First place in paleontology category at Intel Science Fair. (state)
-Attended debate nationals Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year.

Recommendations:
Great, all from teachers and my debate coach who I am a favorite student of.

Intended major:
Social Sciences: archaeology

Again, please realize that these are just my goals to complete, and many of them I already have completed (like the languages, with the exception of Russian).

Anyway, please give me some suggestions and a chance (assuming I do everything above). Thanks!!

Yale: mid-reach (almost always a reach otherwise!)

Thanks, fahdh2. I just don’t want to be obsessing with Yale if I really don’t have a chance.

Wait, how did you already take the AP tests for sophomore and junior year if you’re a current sophomore?

I think the AP scores are predicted?

Anyways, the application, if you fulfill the goals you’ve stated, is reasonable. You would not be wasting your time applying.

Also, I noticed you are from Oregon. May I presume Portland?

you already have SAT scores already in the 2300s? or are those projected? anyway, you look quite impressive! definitely apply.

It is unlikely you will get to be the Oregon state AP scholar with 8 AP exams. This award is for the most AP exams in total, not just in a single year. It is conceivable you will be competitive for this award if you complete your planned curriculum, but it is unlikely you will be able to claim it on your applications since you probably won’t be able to earn it until the close of your senior year. 8 AP exams will, however, qualify you for National AP scholar, which is earned by just a handful of sophomores across the country each year.

Calculus is conspicuous by its absence from your plan. Why avoid it?

I hasten to add, however, that a reviewer of your application might be given pause by your apparent need to collect so many AP exam scores. Before pursuing this, you might want to consider how you will make yourself look like a well-balanced and sincerely curious learner and not a test-driven performer. In other words don’t think that you can allow a large number of excellent test scores by themselves to make your case for admission.

hey
yale is a reach for you but good luck:)
chance me please
