Hi! I’m currently a sophomore in high school, and I was wondering what kinds of classes would help me look better to colleges for my major. I’m planning on applying to schools like UCB, U of M, and IU for business. My junior year schedule is filled up, and I am taking some classes that may be good for business like AP Micro, AP Macro, and AP Prob and Stats. I am starting to think of good business geared classes for my senior year. I know that people won’t know what courses my school offers specifically, but my school is huge and offers so many different classes. Also, for being a business major, how important would colleges view science classes and science grades? I’m not sure if I will take physics or not yet. Thanks for the help!
Writing and language skills will always be important in the business world. Take AP english and AP Lit, because both help develop critical thinking skills and communicate effectively. I think AP Global is actaully a great class. It will help you understand how countries developed and formed alliances, why cultural traditions were influential, and how history continues to affect the world today. Plus, global history is really interesting.
