Suggestions for Final Colleges List

Hello!
Currently filling out the Common App and need to finalize my list, but I have room for another college on my list. My stats are as follows
Selected for Faculty Review Board to interview Principle, Marine Corps Award for Scholastic Excellence, American Legion award for Leadership, Society of the Mayflower Award, Presidents Award, was offered almost full tuition scholarship to Elmira College junior year ( sorry if none of these really matter) , NHS, Science Club VP, Science Club Treasurer, Science Olympiad, Envirothon, Key Club, FBLA VP, FBLA secretary, Class Treasurer 2X, Vice President of Student Council, Varsity Soccer and Tennis, Volunteering at STEM camp, Job at local Zoo, youngest person ever to get Internship with Head Vet at zoo (close to 350 hours logged plus getting letter of Recommendation ), Marching Band, Boys State
Took Honors Chem, Honors English, AP World (5), AP Lang(4), AP Physics (3), AP US (4) , taking AP Bio, AP Gov and AP Euro, GPA 95.8 Unweighted, 7 or 8 out of 151, 30 ACT (SAT was a weak 1900)
Colleges so far:
Alleghany, Ithaca, Cornell CALS, Denison, Saint Lawrence, Geneseo, Dickinson
Really looking to fill the remaining spot with a private college, but not a LAC for variety purposes, with my ACT being on the higher end. Would like a be in Northeast, or at least have a similar climate. Lots of snow is a plus, as I am an avid skier. Smaller school (<15000) preferred. I intend to double major in Bio/History with intention of Veterinary Medicine later down the road for Grad. Any college known for getting kids into Vet school is also worth hearing about.
Thanks for all your help!!

Michigan State. They accept pre-vet students with 2 years of college. You need to have vet. shadowing experience and have all the pre-reqs.

U-Mass Amherst?

@psychicphysics Thanks for the suggestion. I had looked into U Mass Amherst, but my Financial Aid Advisor recommended I not apply based on my OOS status. I Iive in NY, and OOS publics would be less affordable then privates.

Rochester?

@ClarinetDad16
I had really considered U of R but they were on the higher end of my stats. I would be worried about admission, so was thinking of a match rather then a reach. Thanks though!

How can OOS publics be more expensive than privates? The sticker price at publics is always less than privates. What is your EFC and what is the max your family is willing to pay?

@suzyQ7 My families financial state is, in a word, weird. We’ve hired a Financial Aid Advisor who was adamant that, due to my parents extremely low income the last two years, I would be better off attending a private that has a higher sticker price but offers a lot of aid, then a public OOS that isn’t as expensive ( although UVM is quite close) but offers practically no aid to OOS students. It’s rather unfortunate, because my states land grant university (Cornell) is a reach.

Ah, I see. That makes sense now. You have a low EFC so you are looking for a private that meets need. How about Syracuse?

University of New Hampshire offers a $10,000 merit award to OOS students. This would bring the tuition in line with Cornell.

@suzyQ7 Little too urban for my liking.

@ECmotherx2 Cornell, as a private institution would be under 10 000 for me based on my financial aid status.

Did you run the NPC?

Yes
@ECmotherx2

Union College
Colorado College

you may actually want to look at Colorado State. Generous merit program for OOS students but I am not sure on the need based aid. Also, University of Maine has a tuition match program for all states. Clarkson?

@insanedreamer
Apparently Colorado Colleges average act is a 30. Probably a match/ reach

University of Vermont has merit scholarships for out of state students and a good honors program:
