Suggestions for lunch and dinner in New Haven

I frequented Copper Kitchen when I worked for custodial services preparing old campus for reunions and incoming freshmen. Sorry to see it close but Debruns’ statement implies that this is Yale’s fault and yet it is more of a what came first - the chicken or the egg. Yale won’t give a long term lease to a restaurant which won’t correct health code violations and the restaurant won’t invest to correct those same violations without a long term lease.

When my family and I last visited we had dinner at Barcelona - they serve tapas. We all really enjoyed the food. The place was packed with students from Yale too so it was a great meal and we got to eavesdrop on conversations :)

I just visited in the past month, Bangkok Gardens is really good if you like Thai/chinese. Ashley’s ice cream is good as well.

Bumping this as we prep for MoveIn…

While there about 18 mos ago we ate at a seafood place on the water–very marginal food…

Looking for ideas for great raw bar/lobster in area…
for move in we will have a car

Pacifico, Scoozi, Basta, Barcelona

I really like BAR but I’m pretty sure it’s 21+ for dinner. They have an amazing salad.
