Suggestions for Med school admittance

I am currently a junior and I realize it may be a bit late (I just found out about CC) but I was wondering if there was anything I need to work on to get into the PSU/similiar BS/Med school programs.

I am worried that my awards/EC's aren't up to par with the rest of the applicants. For my college essay I will write about my tutoring experience. Also, my SAT scores are low, so I am planning to retake them (probably will get around 2200-2300, after taking a SAT prep class).

SAT I: 690 CR, 760 MA, 620 WR = 2070
SAT II: Chemistry 780, Math IIC 790

In the summer when AP scores come out, I expect to get these scores: 5 US Hist. AP, 3 Spanish IV AP, 5 Biology AP,

Thanks in advance.

Definitely try to get some research experience, volunteering, and shadowing in this summer.

def get some research as case suggested. Unfortunately, psu/jefferson places a lot of emphasis on sat scores when deciding who gets interviews so that might be a problem. Therefore, i'd suggest you try and improve your verbal score to atleast a 730 or 740+.

If you improve your SAT scores, then you have a pretty good chance at some of the programs. But don't be discouraged if you can't get into the top ones like HPME, PLME, or Rice-Baylor...the competition is stiff even if you have perfect scores.
