I have only been to the U.S for 5 years (came without knowing a single english word) so critical reading has always been my greatest liability. I am looking for prep books with decent critical reading trainings. Any suggestion?

Kaplan's book is good for that. Also, check out Barron's How to Prepare for the SAT, 23rd edition.

RocketReview is an awesome book for Critical Reading and Writing.

A lot of tips and strategies on how to get the answers.

um....princeton review is standard...i thought it helped...

the best thing you can do for yourself is check out a bunch of SAT guidebooks from the library, and just take the CR parts of the practice tests in the back...practice is what works bes.t

Ok. looks like there's another person that's just like me. i assume u are another asian ? lol i am one.
i came to US about 7 yrs ago, yeah not knowing any english words. i personally went thru the barrons, princeton review, kaplans, now i have a pretty good grip of whats going to be on the test.
but i dont recommend barrons -how to prepare for the SAT-, the explanations are very superficial, yes, very..
im currently using Grammatix, it's pretty helpful.
i also ordered a rocketreview and grubers for writing and math, thats what i heard they'r

Princeton Review has been very helpful for me.

plethora, an SAT word! nice work

plethora - large amount(i assume)?

plethora=plenty
