Suggestions on FLVS classes for 11th grade?

I'm a full time SCVS student (franchise out of FLVS) and was wondering about the difficulty and time required for some of the classes I'm planning on taking.

Marine Science Honors: This course seems more interesting to me over the other offered science classes.
English 3 Honors: Required but guessing it's boring and time consuming
US History Honors: Heard it requires a lot of reading and writing?
Algebra II Honors: Any details about it?

I also was wondering about the pros and cons of duel enrollment?

Still deciding on electives so will ask about those at a later time.
Thanks for any info you can provide!

Marine Science Honors: I heard this is the easiest honors science course on FLVS.
Algebra II Honors: I took this in 8th grade and it was extremely easy, you’ll breeze through it.

I’m taking all of these classes, but not all are honors.
My Marine Science course is regular, and I have an A in it. It’s SO easy, it’s not even funny. I’m with the full time program, so I can only speak for the full time part. My teacher is Mrs.Buffington. Our live lessons were every Wednesday, and they were really easy. Honestly, I only remember having like 1-3 assignments per month. There’s always an alternate assignment that you instead of the regular assignment, as well as the quizzes.

I’m taking English 3 Honors, and my teacher is Mrs.Hinson. I absolutely hate it, and it’s a lot of work. This year there were only 4 quizzes in the second semester, and like 4 tests, including the final exam. Everything else is a portfolio assignment and it’s so time consuming because it’s about literature and it’s so boring.

I’m taking AP U.S History. With taking AP, you also have to take an AP exam at the end of year to see if you’ve learned enough for the college credit. Honors has no test, and I’ve never taken an honors history class. I’m assuming it’ll be just the same, and it’s easy-ish, but it can get annoying. Quizlet is your best bet for your tests/quizzes.

I’m taking Algebra II, and it’s a bit brutal. I, however don’t like Algebra and struggle with it. My teacher is Mrs.Gray, and she’s really amazing. You have a lot of quizzes in Algebra 2 worth 10 points, and a lot of portfolios too. You have unit tests, as well as final exams.

Also, for every class you’re going to be required to complete a DBA (Discussion Based Assessment), which is your teacher asking you questions about what you’ve learned throughout the unit, and it’s easy. It’s also worth 50 points. It doesn’t matter if you’re taking regular, honors, or AP, but everyone has to take it, and it’s 50 points for everyone.

Hope this helped. :)

Yeah, thanks for the info! I figured that English 3 would be time consuming considering that English 2 was time consuming also. I had somewhat a difficult time with Algebra 1 so hopefully I don’t do too bad with Algebra 2.

Can you name any electives that you found to be easy? I’ve already done creative photography, drivers ed, psychology 1, guitar 1, web design, Spanish, and found guitar to be incredibly hard for someone like me who has had no previous experience.

Thanks!

Bump

Have you considered their Social Media Class?

I was considering that class for one my electives also. Easy, time consuming, any info on it?

Not much. I mocked it pretty heavily in my school paper though.

Guessing with that statement, it is an easy class.
