Can someone at Cornell steer me to a gut course anywhere at Cornell in any elective where an A or B is highly likely and D or F almost impossible.......had a rough freshman year at Cornell (medical reasons) and my cumulatie average now sucks.......I'm worried....need to bring it up next year.......Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

From my experiences and my friends’ accounts, some “easy A” courses:

AEM 2210 (Financial Accounting)
ASTRO 1101 (Nature of the Universe)
ECON 1110/1120 (Intro Micro/Macro)
MATH 1130 (Mathematical Explorations?)
PHYS 1201 (Why is the sky blue?)
PSYCH 1101 (Intro Psych)
SOC 1101 (Intro Sociology)

Make sure you choose something that’s both easy AND fun… if the material bores you to tears it’s so not worth it. (…Do you really want to take Mathematical Explorations if you’re not a math major?)

That said, I second Psych… it relates, in some way or another, to a lot of fields, and it’s also a classic. (Though I’ve never taken it. This is just what I’ve heard.)

From what I’ve heard psych 101 got a lot harder starting fall 08 as the professor changed it up a lot and curves it a lot lower. A friend of mine went in last fall expecting an easy grade and ended up with like a B. And I am pretty sure financial accounting is considered one of the harder AEM classes (along with finance).

anthro 2560, astro 101, hort 102, engri 127.

financial accounting is a pain in the ass. there’ll be no question that if you get an A, you earned that A. it’s easy if you are good at memorization (a la textbooks) and application and if you don’t mind being bored out of your mind.

otherwise, the ease is often overshadowed by the subject’s tediousness.
