Hi, I'm a junior in high school.
And I was wondering... has anyone here volunteered abroad?
I have always planned to volunteer out of United States and step out of my comfort zone. I do not want to risk myself but from reading personal accounts, it's been fascinating to try it out on my own.
If any of you guys have tried any reliable organizations, feel free to share with me. (=
And some suggestions on volunteering abroad are fine too.
Also, do you guys think it's a bit too late. I really hope not. I kept pushing the application process back because of the AP test and whatnot.. And it comes to this...

P.S. I'm looking for a short-term preferably.

I want to go abroad to volunteer… but I can’t afford the thousand dollar plane tickets! Does anyone know of a place where they let you go for FREE? I don’t want to have to pay money to help pthers.

@numbers: A lot of my friends use “World Changers”. I think it’s religious based, but it’s worth a try looking it up.

I don’t know about free…

but PM me, I know a Chinese volunteering thing with orphans. Besides airfare, it’s not that much $$. Like $750 or something for 10 days.
I can’t say its good, because I haven’t gone on it. I just know of it.

It does not matter whether it’s expensive… I really just want a legit… reliable one?
Anyone else know of any?? I was considering Spanish-speaking countries… Since I am currently learning Spanish and I kinda want to use it? (:
Any other suggestions?!
