Few things I want to ask about...
quick background: did TAG program, basically accepted and starting January (Winter) as a poly sci major...I am 80 percent sure I want to go to business school after UCI...I have had two years work experience at a mortgage company after graduating high school...main goal: have a great resume for business school and really get the attention of start up company's for my first real work experience in grad school...so my main questions are...should i join a club or better yet make a club of my own?...should i minor in some type of business field (and if so, which one)...should i gain more work experience after graduating UCI or apply to grad right after...I basically want to be a big part of a start up company and sacrifice the work salary for a higher reward project...please respond and add anything else that would be beneficial

The [UCI Career Center](http://www.career.uci.edu/) is a good place to start finding answers. They have drop in counseling as well as appointments. They have free workshops and a ton of resources. They can help you start networking., find internships, put you in touch with alumni–a great way to get advice and maybe a mentor–help to set up interviews and strengthen your applications.

Ask recruiters for companies in areas which interest you what they look for. Talk to the faculty experts [UC Irvine | The Paul Merage School of Business](http://www.merage.uci.edu/Faculty/FacultyDirectory/index.aspx). Although part of what you’re paying for is the benefit of their knowledge, it’s a rare undergrad who shows enough initiative and maturity to ask for advice while there’s still time to take advantage of it Figure out who might be good to talk to and call or email to request an appointment (And for goodness sake show up prepared and businesslike.) The law school faculty is another possible resource. The school won’t open for another year, but they’re on campus now and planning an innovative interdisciplinary curriculum.
Finally, the Langson research librarians are great and they really like helping undergraduates find answers. You can interact electronically, drop in or make an appointment. [UCI Libraries - Libraries’ Services: Ask a Librarian (Reference Services): Guidelines](http://www.lib.uci.edu/services/ask/guidelines.html)

Hope this helps.
