suggestions

i'm currently an engineering student @ a top 10 engineering school. i just finished my freshman year in college w/ cum. 3.75. my major is currently EE with a concentration on BME. the only 'humanities' type course i've taken so far is a basic philosophy course (which i didn't really take seriously and actually got a B in 1st. sem). anyways, since there were no real requirements for law school, are there any suggested courses to better develop the 'skills' necessary to make a good lawyer? i plan on going into intellectual property/patent law.

in addition i've taken a few courses @ comm. college. my university does not count the grades and the grades come in as if i had tested out of the classes (get the credit but not the grade). do these grades matter?

to your latter question: Yes, those grades matter!

As far as preparation goes, take courses where you'll have to write and write and write. History, Philosophy, English, and some Political Science courses are great for that purpose. Also, make sure you get top grades in EE -which will provide a strong background for IP Law.

Hope this helps.
