Suite dorms

What are some good colleges with suite dorms? I've heard a lot of good things about suites. For instance, that even though there are more people in a suit, each suit still gets its own bathroom, which is better than having a bathroom at the end of a hall shared with EVERYONE else. Also, I've heard suites allow people to socialize better with more persons.

OSU is pretty dang awesome. I've stayed with my ex-boyfriend twice and he lives in Lincoln. It's an honors dorm and it features suite style living. There is basically a common room then a small area with 5 doors branching off. One is a bathroom for the suite, the other 4 are study areas that have bedrooms branching off behind. There are two people in each room, so eight total. The people that live together are pretty close, but people don't just stay in their suite. The building is coed by suite, so, in fact, my ex boyfriend has two girl suites on either side and the people in his dorm often hang out with these girls or some of th other guys on the floor or in the building.

It's nice. If I go there, that's where I'll be.

OSU is Ohio State University right?

Anyone else!?

At least three of MIT's dorms that I can think of are either fully or partly suite-style.

There are other ways of having good socialization in your dorm, though.

Be careful to investigate exactly what is meant by a "suite". My son's abode is called a suite, but it is just two simple rooms, each with two guys, joined by a closet containing a toilet and a sink. The showers are common to the floor, down the hall.

He isn't complaining, since he didn't ask for a suite in the first place; but I was a bit surprised when I saw it on move-in day.

I live in a dorm with community bathrooms, and I think it works out 10x better than a suite ever would. I can take a shower at any time of day without worrying about bothering my room/suitemates. The most amount of girls I've seen in the bathroom at one time was 5...and with 4 toilets and 4 showers, that's nothing. I don't have to buy my own toilet paper or clean anything. I love it!

I guess you're right christalena, some people just scared me, playing regular dorms out as awful.

Oh, and jesseihl, you honestly think I could EVER get into MIT? I wish. You might as fact say Harvard, Caltech, and Yale also have wonderful suite-dorms. Why not throw Oxford in there, while we're at it. Now I'm sad.

USC offers a variety of suite options.

The two newest buildings (Parkside International Residential College and Parkside Arts and Humanities Residential College) offer suites that contain 3-4 bedrooms and 2 restrooms. Each suite houses 5-8 people. Bedrooms house 1-2 people. Arts and Humanities also has a common room in each suite.
