Suite Info?

While I understand that the 2 rooms in a suite (I'm in Rubin, with 2 doubles in a suite), share a bathroom, is there also a common area/room?

TIA.

Do you have to bring your own cleaning stuff for the bathrooms on the dorms-and toilet paper?

From what I understand you have to bring your own cleaning supplies / toilet paper, yes.

they give you free toilet paper

But is it two ply?

Are you in an -06 suite? That's what i'm assuming, since that's the suite with two doubles, as opposed to the -10 suite, with a double and a triple. Yes, the 4 of you will have to share one bathroom, and no, there's no common "room." There's only a small common hallway-type thing that separates the two rooms, so it's not like the Brittany suites where you have to walk through one room to get to the other.

Thanks nirvana, yep I'm in an -06. Reason I asked is because one of the guys in the other room is goign to bring a fridge and I was trying to figure out if we would all use it or whether me/my roommate should bring one as well. Looks like it's the latter. Oh well

EDIT: Does anyone know if the beds in the -06 are bunked, and if they can be un-bunked comfortably if they are?

if it's a double they should be unbunked (and I don't think that's a word...)

do they have vaccum cleaners that we can use???

they give you free toilet paper...
but the quality is so awful that it creates hemorrhoids

the rooms in the -06 suite are not bunked. The only rooms in rubin with bunked beds are the low-cost triples, and even then, those beds can still be un-bunked, depending on how you arrange the furniture in the room. Which room in the -06 suite are you in, DaCarez? The B room has the amazing view and what seems to be slightly more space, and the A room has two closets and two windows (which means everyone will probably hang out there the first few weeks since you'll get more air in the room).

Oh, and yes they have vaccuums available at the front desk that you can borrow, but they're terrible. Last year in rubin, both vaccuums broke towards the end of the year, so you're going to end up with either very crappy vaccuums, or brand new ones.

I'm in the A room. Two windows, eh? Nice, maybe I won't need a fan after all....

Ha, who am I kidding. One 90 degree day and off to the store I go...

I'm in 1412A, a triple. Are we sharing a bathroom with another room? I thought 3 would be enough for one bathroom...

duobeef you won't be sharing a bathroom with another room; the three of you will get your own. the A after your room number means nothing, since its just one room. The -12 room is definitely not a bad room, in terms of low-cost triples.. the view isn't as good, but the setup is better than most.

whats your take on 1410B nirvana?

-10 rooms are the 5-person suites if i'm not mistaken.. so you should have 4 people listed on your housing sheet. I don't remember which room was A and which was B, but if you're in the triple, you'll have 2 windows, which is definitely nice for the first few sweltering hot weeks. Both rooms will have amazing views. Also, this suite is a corner suite, meaning it's shape is a little difficult to explain.. it isn't like the -06 suites where there is an entrance to the suite leading to a small common hallway with the doors to each room on either end. The -10 suite has a small square-ish area once you enter the suite, with the doors leading to the two rooms and the bathroom all connected to this small "common area." This little space is actually big enough to put a fridge in, so unlike the people living in the -06 suite, the residents of the -10 suite can all share one fridge in the little "common area".

oh awesome thanks

any info on the bedding, and yeah B is the triple

thanks a bunch

If you're in the triple, you're almost definitely going to have to bunk two of the beds, unless you find a clever way to arrange the furniture so that you won't need to. Usually, you'd be able to unbunk the beds in triples at the sacrifice of open space, but since your room will have two windows, there is considerably less wall space for things to be pushed up against. So it looks like you're stuck with bunk beds...get there early and claim the single bed! ;D

Nirvana,
I'm in a suite in Brittany with a 2 and a 3 person room. I'm in the 3, will there be bunks in there? I hear the rooms are pretty huge, is that true?
