Suites vs apartments

If you have a low lottery number which is better? Are the apartments worth it or is better to go for a suite? Are the living room and kitchen areas furnished or do you need to buy your own stuff for those? Advice from upperclassmen would be helpful.

I’m wondering the same thing. Everyone says that the apartments are crappy but they’ve never lived in one lol.

In my opinion, I’d rather live with 5 of my friends as opposed to 3, but I’m not sure if it will be a good or bad thing.

The suites on Busch are just across the street from the dining hall. The apartments are farther away, but you have a kitchen, but are all of you really going to go food shopping, and cook and clean up every day? That’s what the biggest differences are to me.

You should have basic furniture in the rooms but you will have to bring your own kitchen stuff.

My D will be a freshman either SAS honor and Business honor school in NB. If she will major in math or statistics, which dorm will be the best choice and more convenient for her?

I’m in Rockoff apartments right now. Best thing about it is you don’t need to buy any meal plan. There’s no kitchenware provided at all, but having a kitchen is great even if you don’t cook much. Rockoff is nice because it’s right across from a grocery store (C-Town); I can’t imagine living in an apartment without a supermarket nearby.

I’m thinking less people less drama than a suite. And more space than a dorm so your not stuck on top of each other especially when someone has a guest. The kitchen is just a bonus so its not dining hall food every day. And how bad can they be - after surviving a year in a dorm?

I live in Silvers and they aren’t bad. By next year, all of them should be remodeled (I got unlucky and was put in a pre-remodel one oh well) and the remodel is nice (I know cause I’ve visited my friends). No kitchen stuff. 1 couch, 2 chairs similar to those in dorm lounges, coffee table, round table, 4 chairs around the round table, and 2 lamps.

I will be going to suites next year simply because the convenience is more important than the privacy/kitchen for me. I rarely ever use the kitchen, and while the big fridge is nice, I’d rather be closer than I am to classes and the campus center.

It simply depends on where your preferences lie. Also, a car would probably be necessary for grocery shopping if you’re living in a Busch apartment. Unless you still have a substantial meal plan.

Thanks koto. That’s the info I was looking for. I get what you are saying about convenience. Not sure I’ll cook much. My lottery number sucks so I’m going with the flow. Friends want to try an apartment and one has a good number so why not. Gotta be better than getting nothing.

Definitely better than getting nothing.

Apartments are a more isolated than suites.

hey im currently a freshman, and ill be a soph next yr

Which suite is the best one? Is there a big difference between Judson, Crosby, McCormick, Morrow, Thomas, or the Winkler suites?

Which one would u recommend?
