Also does anyone know if young men are wearing shirt collars button down? Is that a dad look?
For casual shirts, my kid has some button down collar shirts. For dress up…no.
Men shouldn’t wear button downs with a suit either.
Adding to a comment other’s made, a suit off the rack will likely not have enough extra material to let out where a tailored suit will. I’ve had the benefit of buying tailored suits overseas at much lower prices than U.S but there are now pseudo tailor options here.
Wow. Need to update DH with a non-buttondown option.
Here’s a made to measure suit company that advertises on a podcast I listen to (actually 2, Jon Favreau had these suits made for his groomsmen at his recent wedding lol) (he’s on pod save America)
I just got a catalogue from Vineyad Vines that is all ties. When they had a sale, got 2 for my son.
Otherwise, I check Nordstrums Rack for ties and socks for the other men in my life.
If your husband has button down collar Oxford cloth shirts, those work for wearing with khaki slacks like dockers…for a more casual look.
He has 47" for shoulders and 32" waist (same waist size as dad). That is a 15" drop?
O’k YouTubed Chest is 38", waist 32" - 6 inch drop.
Lots of places sell “separates” for men’s suits. You buy the jacket that fits…and you buy the slacks that fit.
Does Express still sell men’s suit separates?
Mission Accomplished! We went to JCrew and Banana Republic today. The Ludlow was a pretty good fit at JCrew. But then we went to BR and the fit was a little better. We ended up with a solid wool slim black suit with a white and a light blue wrinkle free dress shirts, ocean surf geo nanotek tie and three pairs of black dress socks at Banana Republic . With 40% off and 10% off today only and I went ahead with a BR card 20% off. $820 worth of dress wear for $340. He keeps trying it on. We already had a good black tie. So a big success. Thank you to everyone who helped. I really appreciate it.
