As some of you may know, I was deferred from JHU. I have a to add to my midyear report. I just obtained Summa Cum Laude, even thought my AP Spanish grade was a C+, 77. A B is 80+. Do you think that despite the C+, becoming Summa Cum Laude will play a big part in me getting excepted into JHU? Also is it better to get the C+ in the AP Spanish V, rather than an A or B+ in regular Spanish V.

Bump…

You are asking questions only a REAL admissions person would know. On some other college pages, people would jump in with opinions, here you are less apt to get that. Soo many variables.

I personally asked 10 different Admissions people the same question:
“Would you rather a student get an A in a non-AP class, or a B in an AP class”
and each time the answer was exactly the same:
“We would rather see an A in an AP class”. (UGH!).

Do your best, write a nice note re-stating why JHU and what has changed in the last few months, and then start thinking about the other schools you applied to. You will end up exactly where you belong. It will work out.

Thanks for your input
