Summer '09... what to do?

Do any of you have any idea what you're going to do? I'm debating getting some transferable credit or something, maybe at Penn even, but maybe I should just relax?

Feel free to post any tentative plans/ideas...

i think prepare a bit for the challenging courses.....
summer reading?
haha vacation to china lol

summer classes to prepare are good. im prolly not gonna vacation much since i will have had a vacation already (second semester brah). gotta get back in the studying mood

Don't take classes/credits before starting freshman year. You want to go in fresh, and you'd be better off taking classes later when you know what you need.

Here is my rough list of things you should consider doing:

Party as much as you can with your HS friends. You may never see them again for more than a day at a time.

Read a book or two for pleasure. It's very hard to do this in college, with all the reading for classes. Try to read one book that's somewhat intellectual.

Learn the Greek alphabet. At some point in life, for some reason, this will help you.

Get a job flipping burgers, lifeguarding, or at a summer camp. Make a little money, and don't burn yourself out doing so. Going into college with a little in the bank can help you out.

Clean your room/home/car/whatever. It's nice to go home to a clean room on the breaks.

^^ pretty hot advice, not gonna lie

Hehe I cant wait!
I plan to go hiking on the Appalachian trail
Go party at senior week at the beach
possibly travel to India
read
possibly take a road trip across the country
Do stuff ive never done
O yea and airsoft a bunch

Volunteer! Travel! Do both at the same time! Projects Abroad for a monthlong trip.

Teach English to kids in Nepal or Cambodia! Volunteer in a hospital in South America!
Or, for those resume-hungry Ivy law school hopefuls, volunteer as human rights lawyers aide in Libya! :P

I wonder whether community college credit can be transfered.
btw, for anyone who plans to visit Shanghai, feel free to contact me.

^oh i think i am staying a week or so in Shanghai with my aunt then i have to travel to my hometown down south

Do everything you possibly ever wanted to do but couldn't because if you did it then you would have to pay the consequences since you live there. But now since you are going to college. GO crazy. Seriously. People that actually do stuff in the summer like extra college credit and things always makes me feel bad :( So I don't really have anything planned this summer yet except plenty of roadtrips to nowhere.
p.s. get something pierced. everyones doing it. but be unique about where the piercing is. ;0

Relaxing is no fun.

I think I'm going to travel around Asia. Get around in China, then Japan, then Korea.
Afterwards I plan to join a summer program at Beijing. Heh.

vouch @ hypsis

get a job. party on the weekends.

that's what I did at least.
