summer 101: Our house is not your dorm

Also, I do think that our D’s and S’s are so use to being able to just go to the dining hall at their convenience that fitting in again with a family is a jolt to them.

It doesn’t sound silly at all. Every family reaches its own solutions and accommodations, and sadly, they do group up and form their own households. Whatever works to keep good feeling is the best approach.

My Ss know that dinner is available when I say so, and they know better than to ask what it’s going to be. Often, I don’t know until I start cooking anyway. And they tell me when they’re going to miss it. What I don’t know is how often S’s chums are going to invade our kitchen late in the evening and fix themselves snacks.

Our new dinner rules:
Dinner is at 6:30 - be there or have notified us beforehand
On days you are the non-worker, you are the cook. Can charge food to family account.
Daughter makes a really mean pico di gallo… my gums are numb but the dishes are clear!
