Hey guys! Summer is practically here (a week away for me) and I want to make this a productive one. I need a schedule that is strict and will keep me fit, healthy, and academically on the ball.

I know that some of you CC'ers do very well in school in addition to extra curricular's and such. That is why I am asking you for advice on how to manage my time. What are your schedules like in the Summer? What do you plan on doing?

hm… I am an odd ball, just warning you ahead of time! xD
This is what I want my schedule to look like…

Weekends are another story as well I would probably hang out with friends and run at 5 AM in the morning since I live right next to a nice hiking trail

7.00 - get up, eat breakfast, etc
8.00 - books, video games, etc in Japanese (I’m learning Japanese)
11.00 - summer homework
12.00 - lunch
12.30 - mindless internet surfing, web design
3.00 - hang out with friends

Exception is Saturdays, when I work and then just chill out for a while afterwards and then hang out at night.

This is pretty loose though, I’m not really into unnecessarily rigid summers.

I’m barley home this summer. June 26th (two weeks from today!) until July 16th I will be at Bryn Mawr College for the Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG). July 18th to 22nd I will be volunteering for vacation Bible school at my church. The theme is pandamania. Should be interesting. August 1st to 5th I am going to student life camp in mt bethel, pa. August 7th to 19th I am doing work crew at Summer’s best two weeks. During all of that I will be doing lots of IB work and starting college applications.

10:30 - wake up, some days go to hospital/library to volunteer
12:00 - tan, friends, shop, spa, downtown, etc
4:30 - go to work
10:30 - get off work, go to movies/go out/eat
2:00 - get home, sleep.

don’t see the point of studying over the summer… that’s what school’s for ;)

Don’t really have a set schedule, but I do internships 3-4 days a week. Writing tutor. AP prep. SAT/ACT prep. Math competition work. Summer camps. Science projects. Play tennis. Read classical books. I’m a rising junior.

First night of summer = a bonfire of all the past school year’s notebooks and worksheets and tests.
The next time I think about school after that is, well, the first day back to school.

I would like to relax, but I have a lot to do in a short amount of time Besides, I like being productive! Oh and Ruthie2012, I was thinking of making a bonfire but I haven’t yet!

Read. A lot. I have tons of books at home, mostly literature and science, waiting to be read.
Sleep. A lot.
Eat. A lot.

Otherwise, on days where i’m not doing a pre-college program or visiting family/traveling…

Do 1-3 hours of AMC/AIME problems and reading a day (weekdays and weekends). Fit in a little fun math facts or read some interesting proofs in between so I don’t overmath myself.

Do some SAT prep each day (no course). Probably do some SAT subject test prep as well.

Do AP summer assignments.
Read a good portion of my AP chem textbook in order to prepare for Chemistry Subject Test, and so I can sleep for a good portion of the class.

Volunteer at the local library, church, and other places.

Otherwise, its mostly relaxing :D. And then more math.
