Summer 2011 Transfer Students

Thanks Tessey, I will try faxing them today.

I am cleared to register now. Hopefully everyone else is able to register as well.

Yup! Took a little work, but everyone was helpful today and I’ve registered for my classes now.

hey are any you guys having problems registering for classes? I got everything done, and my immunization has already been processed. But when i try to register, it says I need to take the DELNA test for english language proficiency test. I don’t know if this is a requirement or they did this because I am asian, but I was born and raised here with english being my first language.

John, do you have a DTA degree? The website said that if you have (or will have) a DTA degree, you don’t have to take the DELNA, or if your SAT writing score is above a certain score.

Sent from my MB525 using CC App

No, I just transferred after a year of CC and I never took the SAT. Do I have to take the DELNA if I don’t have either of those? I just don’t understand why I need to take some english proficiency test when it is my first language. But I guess ill just take it since its only 20 mins even though its kinda pointless.

@john - Then you have to take the DELNA. It’s required for all freshmen and transfer students unless they satisfy one of these:
*A minimum score on one of several qualifying standardized tests
*Completion of a qualifying associate degree from a Washington community college
*Successful completion of the UW Intensive English Program

@stephanie i just called to register for the test, but the person I talked to says that they don’t do those tests anymore so now I’m just confused on what to do.

Really? Dang…I wish I could help you more. :(

Did any of you guys have your orientations yet? How did it go?

@aluong2007 Not yet, orientation for those of us that got in for summer is on June 6th. I’m so excited!

My orientation is tomorrow as well. It says the location is in the Cascade Room in Haggett, but don’t I need a key to get through the front door of Haggett?

Hope to see everyone at 8:30 tomorrow, hopefully I don’t sleep in lol!

Mine is in the same place too! All that I’m worry about is finding the place…

Have any of your guys’s transfer credits been “translated” into UW lingo yet? I still have “0” transfer credits…

Mine have been reviewed and applied to my transcript. It was from the transcript I submitted with my application however, so the classes I took during Winter quarter are missing still. I called a couple weeks back and the person who helped me said that they were on a tight schedule and only had a few people working on this. If I remember correctly, I think he said they were hoping to have them done by the 10th of June, but I might be mistaken. Regardless, it’s probably worth it to give FYP/Undergraduate Admissions a call to see what’s going on since you can’t get into any classes with prerequisites without this step complete.

I see. Thanks for the information, I will contact FYP since fall quarter registration is coming up soon. It still says I am a Junior with “0” transfer credits.

Also, where do we send our spring quarter transcripts? Also to admissions like we did during the application process?
