Summer 2012 Transfers

May-June is the timeframe for decisions, and I am just wondering if any letters have been received yet. And if not, does anyone know when do they usually start mailing letters. Thanks in advance.

none yet… I called the office of admissions yesterday and they said that letters will start going out next week and continue through mid June.

Letters have already started to be sent out. My girlfriend received a rejection letter Wednesday the 9th. The admissions branches at UW are completely out of touch with each other. One person will say one thing that is clearly false (as some letters have already been sent out) in order to get off the phone with nagging applicants. Best advice is just hold tight an hope for the best.

I confirm this ^^. I got my letter of acceptance from the UW today.

seatac, were you able to see your unofficial transcripts and all that stuff that the freshmen were able to see when they were accepted? Or is that not the same case for transfers?

I guess my message still says “…this message will not change unless we need additional information or an official admission decision has been made…” so I’m still waiting.

I was able to see the unofficial transcript from the UWB yesterday (got the letter today), but I still can’t see the unofficial for the UW Seattle (for which I also got the letter today). There is no change in MyUW account at all. And I still have the same message you mentioned.

Ah…the person that delivers my mail comes at 4:00…and I have to leave for work right now… hopefully I will have a good letter when I get back!

What’s the letter look like?

It’s a gold envelope with the words “The Big Envelope” on it.

Did you apply for general admissions only, or have you applied for your program as well? And did you apply to Bothell or Seattle campus? Thanks. :)

I applied to the Business schools in Seattle and Bothell. I got into Bothell’s Business School, and haven’t received an answer from Seattle’s (but I have received the answer from the university itself).

Thanks for the quick response, and congratulations. I was already accepted into UW-Seattle this year’s winter quarter, but couldn’t go…fought really hard to defer my admission, but in vain, so had to reapply.
Now, UW contacted me about 3 weeks ago and asked for the most recent transcript even though I have supplied them with one at the time of my application…I hear that they don’t usually do that, so I am taking it as a positive sign :).
Anyway, this waiting is fairly exciting thing regardless.

Jankov, I don’t see a reason why you won’t get in this time. Unless your grades have changed significantly. I guess this was the reason why they requested the transcript - to take a look at your grades. Good luck! I hope you will get your letter soon.

Seatac sorry to hound you after you got your acceptance letter but is everyone in this forum applying from community college or other four years?

There are different people in this forum. Some are from 4-years, some are from community colleges. I’m from a WA community college, finishing my AA this quarter.

Yeah, no problem there, grades will not be an issue…and i’m from community college as well 20nahhh.

No mail today, besides the hammock for “in-between” my backyard palm trees. At least I’m waiting like a king :D
