Summer 2014

What summer programs would you recommend for the summer of 2014. I am preferably looking at courses related to finance and business (as that is my intended major in college) at ivies and top tier schools.

Endevvr:Endevvr[/url”>http://www.endevvr.com/]Endevvr is a summer start-up incubator for high-schoolers, I’m applying this year for it - Apps were open last week

Launch: launch[/url”>http://www.launchsummer.org/]launch is a 4-week program held at MIT, where students get to to learn more about business and entrepreneurship, I’m applying there as well.

Leadership in the Business World: A fairly prestigious program on business held at Wharton, UPenn and Wharton in San Francisco LBW[/url”>http://www.wharton.upenn.edu/academics/lbw.cfm]LBW

I am not old enough for the lbw program as I am currently a sophomore in high school. What do you guys think about the summer programs related to business at Columbia, brown, Harvard and Stanford.

Stanford has the EGPY program, which is three weeks long - they take Sophomores. I think they have an intro to entrepreneurship and business course.

Brown’s not really known for business stuff.

I’ve read the entire Columbia program is kind of one giant party…probably not what you’re looking for.

Don’t forget that not every top college has a good high school summer program.

yeah. i got the same impression from Columbia’s website (pretty average). How much does admission into selective summer programs affect college admission. When I spoke to the regional admission officer for UPENN, she said that the same people that evaluate college admissions evaluate summer applications so that you may get name recognition when applying for college (if that makes sense). The schools that I am looking at for college are duke, upenn (wharton), columbia, cornell, northwestern

Hm…just saw this while websurfing. [LEAD Program](http://www.leadprogram.org/) It’s a business program, and they offer it at campuses of some good colleges (Northwestern, UPenn, Duke). Not sure if it’s any good, but you may want to look into it. I think I might look into it too.
Also, this list of summer business programs (again, can’t verify that they’re good, but a good research starting point): [College Lists / Summer Study - Business](<a href=“College Lists Wiki / Summer Study - Business”>College Lists Wiki / Summer Study - Business)
