I need to choose between these two countries....which is better for Spanish Language study?

The main difference I can think of is the use of the ‘vos’ form in Uruguay (as in Spain, Argentina and a few other Spanish speaking countries).

I don’t know if their pronunciation of ‘y’ and ‘ll’ is like in Argentina and therefore different from other Latin American countries or not.

You will get good language practice in both places, don’t worry about that. I would vote for Uruguay because the political situation in Venezuela is unstable.

I went to Argentina as a part of the Experiment in International Living last summer and I think you should go to Uruguay (which is right above Argentina). I’d say either country would be great to improve your Spanish. Another poster mentioned the ‘vos’ and ‘tu’ difference… but I don’t think it really matters. Any Spanish-speaking person knows both, and will understand you. I guess I’m biased because the culture of Uruguay is very similar to that of Argentina (in regards to mate - a sort of tea). Montevideo, the capital, is beautiful.
