Details
Create your own work for film. Simple, honest and straightforward, Practical Aesthetics is both an acting technique and a philosophy. The technique gives actors an empowering set of analytical and physical tools. The actor learns to analyze scenes for tangible, physically-playable objectives, and uses his or her imagination, voice, body and sense of play to bring the character and the story to life. The Practical Aesthetics philosophy teaches self-reliance, professional work habits, as well as mutual support and respect between artists. Join industry professionals and your peers in working in front of the camera. Your days will be spent learning the basics of acting for the camera as well as cold readings. The curriculum includes exposure to the Atlantic technique with classes in voice, speech movement and improv. You will spend your days in front of the camera as well as creating a final film piece that will be presented on the last day to family and friends. During this engaging week you will tour the Atlantic Theater company’s award winning Off-Broadway Theater and have a guest class with an industry theater professional.

Tuition: (includes lunch)
Housing is optional: (Includes room, breakfast and dinner, activities, transportation in NYC as needed and full supervision)

As you can see, it is for five days and not two weeks like you wanted but you are not going to be able to find one for two weeks for $1000.

Please be aware that this is run through US Performing Arts Camps…not NYU or Atlantic.

I just noticed that you have to be sixteen and you are fifteen. That is another problem. Many programs for your age that are not local are overnight ones. Those where students are on their own for housing are geared toward those who are at least 16.
