Summer activities for high school seniors?

Hi, I am currently a high school senior. I have already applied to universities, and got accepted by my “zone” schools. I had many dream schools, but I gave up because my SAT score was not enough for their standards. However, I still consider them for future prospectives. For this reason, I would like to take advantage of the summer to improve my curriculum. I would like to get involved in some research projects, but cannot find any for high school seniors. Could someone advise me on programs that are relevant for colleges?

P.S. I am an International student, and plan to major in Economics/Finance.

Are you going to be attending one of your zone schools? or are you putting off college for a year?

If you want to do research, you probably need to find someone that knows someone. Let us say you want to do research in Biology. Talk to your Biology teacher and tell them that…ask if s/he knows anyone at the local Univ that could use a summer student.

I am going to a zone university first but I plan transferring to another one for my junior year.

I would think that anything you do now is not relevant for your junior year transfer school. Doing well in your zone school and creating relationships with professors and doing research in college will be relevant.
This summer get a job and save money, travel, volunteer and/or read.

What about frequenting a summer course in a top school? Is it well seen by universities as an extracurricular activity or it’s just a waste of money?
