Just out of curiosity, what are you guys doing this summer? I feel that I should be "preparing" for something; don't ask me what this something is...i have no clue! I think I am feeling kind of nervous about the other kids and their level of knowledge. but so far my plans are working part time, doing some community service at the hospital, reading books on my own, hanging out with the buddies, etc. I am considering taking a class at the comm college. are you guys doing anything to prepare for the U of C???

I am preparing to pay my bill come September by working my ass off.

I am working 18 hours/week, which started this Monday. It is terrible, as the building in which I work is freezing; then again, I may just be lazy and don't like to work. :)

I am reviewing calculus this summer (I took it two years ago and forgot quite a bit.), as well as continuing to homeschool (for what good it will do me). I suppose I, too, am scared of the level of geniusness my future fellow students have. . .

some of those posts on thickenvelope make me worried... but I think everyone is somewhat apprehensive about how they'll stack up to our future classmates... im sure its very natural... regardless of how good the school or the individual is.

working/volunteering all summer... and visiting some colleges, of course

I've ordered probably about 20-30 books from UChicago Political Science, Public Policy, and Economics professors so that I can be friends with them and discuss their marvelous ideas.

<3.

^haha nice.

holy s*** holyspirit! I don't know whether that's honest and good or just the ultimate in being a suck-up. And trust me, I've always been a fan of sucking up, but that is TOO far.

As for me, lots of reading, a lame CC Psych course, and a little bit o' working at a pizza place. Plus a trip to San Antonio with my youth group and the Illinois Pork Leadership Institute. Haha, it's fun to say that.

I'm presuming holyspirit was joking....

I'm heading to Guatemala to work in an orphanage for a month...other than that, reviewing some calc and sitting around.

I don't have a reading list yet, so I'll be making (and attacking!) that soon.

Could be. I always have this bias against CCers lying b/c they seem so crazy sometimes I'll believe anything they say.
