I am in juior year, I had been in different summer camp before. I have no work experience. I had hard time to find a intern or job now. Is it really bad if I do not have work experience when I apply the top 10 school.
Do you have any suggestion. What should I do this summer, work in supermarket or go to summer program again.

Hi gpf1192, welcome to CC! :)

In my opinion, you should spend your summer doing whatever you'd enjoy most and learn the most from. If you really enjoy your summer program and think it's a beneficial experience, then by all means do it. If you'd rather earn some money and hold a job, take the job.

You should spend your summer doing something that you find fun, meaningful and important.
In essence, do whatever you will feel most productive with, and most proud of. :)

Work in the supermarket unless it's a free summer program. Adcom are not impressed by paid for summer recreation.

Thanks. IS it that important to have work experience? If I increase my volunteer hours in hospital, does it count same as paid job? I lived in remote area. I hope I can find a job in supermaket.

Volunteering is fine.
