Summer admission

Does UT admit freshmen in the summer sessions?

Find your counselor and ask directly about details

Enrollment in summer session is usually not welcomed because of financial issues. I believe Summer session I is included in FAFSA for previous year (this summer session I would be included into 2011-2012 financial year), Summer Session II is the very beginning of the next financial year (2012-2013).

UT has some special summer programs for students they consider being at risk and they provide them with extra “tutoring” classes before the fall enrollment.

If you want just take extra classes as a regular UT student during summer ask the counselor (link above) how to do it. Most likely you’ll not get any financial aid and you’ll be able to enroll only for Summer II session. It is my educational guess, I am not sure.

Most of students who want to take some gen. ed classes between 12 grade and college just go to community college and pay in full. Community college is really the cheapest option, even if you pay the full price. And you can enroll both in Summer Session I and II.
