I have recently been accepted to the college of my choice, and am now looking into summer opportunities. Unfortunately, it seems that most of the programs are available only to rising seniors. Can anyone recommend some good programs (especially research and internships) that a graduated senior might enjoy?

that's because characteristically the summer before senior year is for maintaining a job and enjoying your last moments with friends before leaving for college.... enjoy yourself...

Many colleges offer a summer session. Some, like Yale's, are quite open to high school juniors and seniors. Just look into schools you're interested in...I'm sure there is something for you :)

habitat for humanity, some sort of volunteer work...try going abroad! it's good experience for college...learning to take care of yourself. that is, if your parents aren't holding on to you for the longest time possible :) gotta love em

PSYL - Pearson Seminar for Youth Leadership
I know it is open to graduating seniors, even though I attended right before junior year. There were lots of grads there though. It's awesome and I think it would be a great way to make the transition from hs to uni. For more info --> www.psyl.ca

Other than that though - I'm a graduating senior as well and this summer is all about fun! I'm going to be an LIT at my camp and then probably travel Europe with my boyfriend because we both have family there. Oh man I can't wait.

yeah, my real rough job during the summer.. LIFEGUARDING...work 4 days a week max, get to sit in the sun all day and get a tan, get paid while sitting in a chair and blowing a whistle maybe twice a day, get to kick kids out for being annoying, and get to swim for free whenever i want, it's really rough....it's practically free money

omg, I would adore going to Germany for the World Cup...the stadium where it's being held in is huge. When we were there over the summer, we drove past it, and it is so insane.
