I get $700 University Grant and Pell Grant for this summer. But I wonder is that $700 subjected to be deducted from my total Financial Aid award? I mean it is like "early Financial Aid disbursement" in the summer instead of in 08-09 academic year ? can anyone answer my question?

If you've already accepted your efan, your grants should have gone through the BAR already.

I can't get what you mean ! I didn't accept anything the efan though. Cause if the summer aid will be deducted toward my total gift aid in the year, I won't take 8 units in this summer ($1500 btw T_T)

It...shouldn't have to do anything with your gift aid during the year?

I don't know. Won't somebody more knowledgeable help this poor confused soul?

Summer awards usually include grants (if eligible) Work Study (if eligible) Perkins Loan and Stafford Loans. If we offer you a Stafford loan for summer, it will take away from the academic year loans, but we usually only offer Stafford loans after we award for the academic year first.

This is copy of an email I got earlier, so I'm guessing that summer aid in general is offered after aid for the academic year is allocated.

P.S. Jennifer Fernandez is awesome if you have any finaid questions

I believe it's two separate entities and will not subtract away from your award during the academic year. Summer financial aid will not affect how much you get during the year.
