Has anyone taken intensive Greek during the summer? I'm interested in U of Chicago summer school and Harvard Summer School (as a high school student). I'd love to hear if you enjoyed your experience! I am open to other programs as well. My high school only offers Latin, which I take, but I really want to study Greek too! I might be interested in Classics in college. Thanks so much.

UC Berkeley also offers “Greek Workshop” - also “Latin Workshop” - which cover a full year of college level Greek/Latin.

The Berkeley Greek Workshop sounds very impressive and appealing! I have been searching for weeks and somehow missed this, so thank you! I have found several similar programs but many of them do not admit high schoolers. This is also significantly less expensive than both Chicago and Harvard. And I can spend the saved money at Chez Panisse (I ate perfect fried chicken in the upstairs last summer–so yummy) Did you take either the Greek or the Latin Workshop? Thanks again for pointing me toward Berkley.

Are you an Oberlin student? I am at Oberlin right now with the Middlebury French Language Acadamy:) It’s pretty swell so far.

CTY offers Ancient Greek.

You could also look into doing online ancient Greek with Lukeion. I’m not sure if their classes would conflict with your school schedule, but they offer very strong high school level courses in the classics.

Can High School students do the Berkeley Greek Workshop?

Rising juniors can take the Berkeley Greek/Latin Workshop–I just confirmed that with both the Classics Dept and admissions.

Because I am a full-time student, the Lukeion project will not work for me, but it looks very good.
