I've already graduated with a BA in another field, but would like to attend a summer intensive before applying to a M. Arch program. All the summer architecture programs I've found (with the exception of Parsons and SCI-ARC) are only open to high school students.

Does anyone know of any that are open to all education levels and not just pre-college students?

Both Columbia and Harvard have college level or postgraduate summer exploration programs. My son attended the one at Columbia while he was an undergraduate. Columbia has both day and evening programs, and many of the participants already have established careers but are thinking about architecture.

He wasn’t thrilled with some aspects of the program, but it offered good exposure to the field and of course New York city architects and architecture. It’s also an excellent opportunity to build your portfolio.

Would you consider a program outside the US? Check out the Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture in London. They have many summer offerings around the world.
