Does your high school give our summer homework during summer vacation?

Almost all of my AP classes require me to do some summer projects/assignments.

Nope, only read a few books for Honors English.

yup for me all ap’s require us to read like 100 pgs and do a project and stuff

we also often have exams on the 1st week on the 100 pgs of material we read, for my comp sci class we had to read 300 pgs

My AP English class last year required me to read two books and do projects over them and then the first day of school we had a test over one of the books. None of my other classes have required any summer assignments though.

Yeah, we have 3 books to read for AP Lit. ( including one over 800 pgs) and 1-2 books for AP USH, AP Western and AP Lang.

I think in general most schools give out summer assignments, particularly if you are taking AP classes. I have homework for each class, including calculus, which I personally think is ridiculous.

I have an absolutely preposterous amount of work this summer:
AP Lit - Great Gatsby, The Things They Carried, Mrs. Dalloway
AP Bio - 200 pages of reading, 5 tests in the first two weeks of school, 2 labs, 2 essays
AP Psych - 200+ pages of reading, notes on all of the readings, chapter questions on all readings, 6 tests in first month of school
AP Calc - 10 problem sets and a test on the first day of school
AP Environmental - nothing…

We never get work, but we do have reading. I have 5 books (one’s in French) and one movie to watch.

AP Calc - a 20 page packet of problems
AP Bio - reading
AP CS - reading
ENglish every year - reading >_>

We don’t have AP in general (only two classes) because we’re in IB. The only class, remarkably, that has summer homework is the AP class I’m taking…

APUSH- Autobiography of Malcolm X & All the President’s Men, dialectical journals on each chapter

I got a lot. I just have to finish doing some work for a book for my AP Lang class and I’ll be done with 3 AP classes. I didn’t bother doing 2 AP classes, because I am dropping out of either one or both (possible self-study)

Too bad school starts in TWO WEEKS! I get my schedule/parking pass/locker/txtbooks tomorrow, w00t

I have soooo much. It’s ruining my summer and I don’t have time to prep for the SAT.

Read a Spanish book.
Read Founding Brothers.
Read 3 English books and do dialectical journals for all three and 20 summarize op/ed articles.

We only have summer assignments for AP World History.

^^To keeponreaching: have you tried budgeting your time? How are you dealing with it now?
