Summer at Penn?

Rolling admissions mean that they evaluate applications as they are received AND NOTIFY YOU AS SOON AS THEY FINISH THE EVALUATION.
I wouldn't panic about not hearing from LBW. Did you get an email telling you the status of your application? S got one early last week saying they were missing the recs (which had been sent a month ago). Now that they have been re-sent, S was notified that the application was complete. They don't work all day/every day reading the apps, so there is some delay in hearing from them.

momofwildchild, how do you interpret this email from penn?: (i applied very early after they started accepting applications, by the way)((within a week or two))

o...the email is gone because i received it a while ago, but it said something along the lines of...
"your application is complete, and we will be notifying applicants of acceptance/rejection in early may via mail, if you have any questions in the meantime contact me at...etc etc"
the email gave me no sense that i was 'deferred' or anything along those lines by the way, it seemed like a standard 'application complete' notification that also told me when to expect an acceptance/rejection...

is it possible that you have received the equivalent of a summer likely letter, or have i (and the other posters on this forum) been pushed off?

i recieved that letter doc and am in the same exact boat as you
all that letter said was we got your app
so yeah all we can do is wait and see

I am surprised at that letter, especially since some people have gotten accepted. I don't know if that means they want to see all the apps before deciding on you or what! I'll let you know what we hear now that S's application is complete. I was led to believe that if they had all your materials and you were a good candidate, you would get an acceptance! I think early on there were some glitches in the information chain. The stuff is processed by that outfit in King of Prussia, and there was a disconnect between them (Junian Kinsky or whatever it is that runs the program) and the folks at Wharton. There is a woman named Colleen at Krinsky and someone named Latoya Baldwin at Penn who seem to be the ones handling the application materials, if you want to call and ask.

My D got her application into LBW early January, but she didn't get the e-mail that the application was complete for 5 weeks after that. She was accepted 3 weeks after she received that email. Hope this helps everyone who is waiting to hear. The whole process from start to acceptance was 8 weeks. Good Luck everyone. My D would love to here from anyone who was also accepted!

thanks for the feedback all of you,
yeah i didnt get the application complete email until a few weeks ago...
im just curious savvymom, did the application complete letter that your daughter received say that acceptances would be mailed out in early may?

No, the e-mail said that she would be notified at the latest by May. Good Luck!!

thank you (10char)

Thanks, Savvymom. I guess it is a longer process than I was led to believe. We won't hold our breath waiting for the decision.....

hey....i jus found out that i got into LBW last tuesday. Ive heard that they make decisions every tuesday and that they do not deny people till the end of the app process. see any of you who are going there.

care to tell your stats hurley?

aight thanks i appreciate it

I think they would admit you early if they're sure they want you. But they will hold all the apps till May.

The email probably notifies the applicant that the stuff required is complete.

can i ask in this thread what my chances for this program are?
