If you applied for Summer B (or got placed it in, whichever) you will attend UF for Fall 2010, correct? I know some people are placed in Summer B to "prove themselves" but you don't have to resubmit an application or anything like that, do you?

If you were accepted for Summer you are IN!. No reapplying etc. You are just in.

Oh good! I thought that was the case, but I wasn’t sure.

I am not ready to attend in Summer B, I want to change it! but if its impossible then i will have to go at that time.

Dude, lr, you are so lucky…UF was the first choice for a lot of us. Personally, I had a preference for summer just to ensure that I’d be THERE and ON CAMPUS ASAP!!! But no, I didn’t work hard enough in high school…and now I gotta suffer for it for the remainder of my life. I know I can transfer, but…precious time…gone.

Please be lucky that you were accepted. UF was my top choice, considering that I have a family legacy. Unfortunately, I didn’t get in and I thought that maybe I would have a shot in the summer since seniors would like to have their summer breaks.

I applied Fall and got in for Summer B.

I don’t understand, though. Why so many applied for Summer B? I thought getting in college for Fall is the usual way to go?

How does Summer B attendance differ from Fall? Are we still just 2010 freshmen or we are segregated groups? =P Will I make friends with Fall freshmen anyways?

If you’re not satisfied with the semester you were accepted to, I believe there is an appeal process. Search the forums for similar threads around this time last year. It’s definitely possible.

You’re still a part of the class of 2014. You’ll still go to Convocation with all of the rest of the new students.

Yup. I was pretty jealous of some of my friends that started Summer B because they were already acquainted with Gainesville and the campus and had some UF credits under their belt so a few had sophomore status by spring semester. If anything, you’ll have an opportunity to make more friends, as you’ll have the people you met over the summer, and the people you’d normally meet during Fall – less hectic Fall start, I guess? Some people also want to graduate ASAP, so starting Summer B is the way to go in that case. But I enjoyed my last “free” summer, so it’s a fair tradeoff.

My son was admitted to Summer B last year after applying for Fall. He was happy to get in for any term. Many of his friends applied and were admitted for Summer B. He sent an email to: freshman@ufl.edu requesting a change of term because of his summer job. He had just gotten a very good job and quitting it for the summer would cost him enough money to pay for a semester of housing. He was granted a change of term fairly quickly. When you email be sure to include your UF ID# and a legitimate reason why you need to change your term. His friends that started Summer B loved it. There is no difference in your class designation or anything else. You just get a heads up on learning about campus life and learning your way around a much less crowded UF. Also, if you don’t have a lot of college credit hours coming out of HS the credits you earn in Summer B will help you graduate on time.

I sent them an email about changing the Summer B to Fall but let’s see what happens.

My daughter got in last year for Summer B and loved it. She found it a lot easier to find her way around campus in the fall with 50,000 students. Plus she said there was a lot to do in the summer there.

I got accepted for Spring 2011 but I would love to start attending with the rest of my friends in the Fall of 2010. I wouldn’t even mind starting Summer B. I need opinions on whether I should request a change by e-mail for either (summer or fall) or if I should pick one and go with it. I don’t want the university to think I have a whatever attitude and want them to decide which they give me but then again if I tell them I’ll be happy with either option, it increases my chance of getting it. okay I’m gonna stop rambling lol. hope this makes some sense :)
