Summer B?

Does applying for the Summer B term help your chances of being admitted to the university as opposed to the Fall 2011 term? I'm just wondering.

I wouldn’t think so.

In general, there is a limited schedule of summer session classes. The half term classes (A & B sessions) are even more limited than the full Summer C session classes (these last 12 weeks vs the 6 week A/B sessions). Also, they still need room for you during full term in the Fall and Spring.

Many incoming freshmen do show up early and enroll for Summer B, to get a jump on college. I remember teams of newbie frosh hitting campus in late June. Obviously most incoming frosh can’t do summer A or summer C because they haven’t graduated from HS by the time those terms start (Mid May).

UCF does make 4 year students complete a summer session.

It doesn’t make a difference. When you apply for summer, they only consider you for the B session. They do this so that there aren’t any specific summer conflicts.

Applying for summer in general is better. You have a better chance of getting in. The average GPAs and SAT scores are lower for the summer term.

okay awesome! thank you so much! i was just curious and this helped a lot!

Could I get into the summer term for 2012 with a 3.4 unweighted and a 3.7 weighted GPA, a 26 on the ACT (retook, get results on Monday), 6 or 7 honor classes, 1 AP, some community service (getting A LOT more in the summer before I apply in July), 4 EC’s, and a part-time job (25 - 30 hours a week). So what do you think my chances are? Thanks.
